Concentration and Accuracy

Case Study: Client F - Concentration and Accuracy

Client F wanted to make the move from amateur to professional in the world of motor racing, and his team manager demanded an upgrade in his fitness levels.

Motor racing is a sport, which makes huge mental, and physical demands on its drivers. Heat, noise, G-forces, de-hydration, localised fatigue (notably in the lower legs, the arms and neck) are among the aspects that make sustained concentration and high quality performance difficult. All top drivers need to be fit athletes.

Team Fitness was commissioned to design an ‘all-round’ training programme to assist Client F in dealing with the competitive stresses of motor racing. Fitness testing revealed a reasonable level of strength, but limited flexibility and low endurance.

Team Fitness designed a programme that laid a foundation of fitness and then progressed to develop some specific musculature - wrist flexors and extensors, tibialis, trapezius, deltoid, scm and all the support muscles - the abdominals and erector spinae.
